broken adjective bro·ken \ˈbrō-kən\ : separated into parts or pieces by being hit, damaged, etc. "I'm just a broken girl- you can't get all of me, only half. I won't let you do that to yourself." The words fell from my mouth with little tiny cracks in between each breath. "I want you- I need you, Kendra. All those broken pieces can come back together and-" "They won't ever be the same. They still have the scars." I whispered trying to walk away. "Well maybe they aren't suppose to look the same, maybe-" "No! Shawn, listen to me! We can't. This can't happen! You and I both know that!" I shout at him frustrated. He's making this too hard for me. "I-I know," he shuts his eyes tightly as he grabs my hand, "but I can't imagine a life without these hands, these arms-" He stops as a tear falls down his face followed by another before rubbing his hand over my arm. "These arms, this face," his voice cracks as he rubs a thumb over my cheek. Tears prick at my eyes before trying to pull away, "you." He whispered as he sobbed quietly. "Shawn," I wipe my eyes before continuing, "I need to go"

"I'm fine," I state rather bluntly. "You don't look fine." "Then stop looking." He chuckles, and damn does he. His voice is dessert for the ears, his face is candy for the eyes. If I wasn't so pissed off I might've swooned over him. "How can I? When an angel is so close to me," He smirks. I fully turn myself towards him this time. "Were you there? That night?" I have to know before I think about him in the light any longer. "No." He doesn't even hesitate, "But my father was," "If I may ask, what in the hell prompted him to take my brother from a car accident?" He plasters on a tight-lipped grin, a small tick in his chin. "That's the thing, Hermosa, that night was everything but an accident." (Beautiful) --- This is a small intercept from Beautifully Broken. If you decided to read it I hope you enjoy!
