Seiyo is just another poor school, they arent in danger of closing however they are poorly funded and on a downhill spiral, the school leaders decided to reopen tankery in hopes that they can get far enough in the tournament to get out of this deathspiral. (what are you talking about aircraft joke in a tank fic? i dont know what you mean.)
Girls und panzer is about high school girls competing in 'sensha-do' (Lit: art of the tank, also translated to tankery) the art of operating WW2 armor.

She was approached by a curious young girl, who recognized her and insisted she join her Senshadou team. Together with a low self esteem Racer, a mysteriously strong Shut in and an enthusiastic naive girl, Ashurii Taniguchi would rejoin the sport in the professional scene where the adults are not bound by the modification they do to their tank. Will she be able to overcome her phobia to the sport?
