In the misty land of Edros, among the high cliffs of the Silent Mountains, their is a giant structure called the Fair Gate. On the gate, engraved deep in the thick blue ice are words of the fate of not only Edros but of all the 12 Kingdoms.
"Doomed are those who lie in sin, those who shed blood of the innocent, and defile my name
Doomed is the Kingdom that has a fool as King
The cries of the wronged fill the lands
So, I answer
12 times you defied me
12 times you followed me
12 kingdoms reigned
12 wars ran their course
12 blessing I sent
12 curses I cast
12 more will be sent
One shall rise, one shall fall
It will begin with the return of the Guardians of old
Heralding the end of the old and the dawn of the new
The first will send out the call
The call of Kings
The call of the Never Hawk King"
Those words of promise, making many people hope and dread the future. And the tensions between the Kingdoms and the lawlessness of the rulers make many to begin to doubt those words. But the words of The Father and the Chronicles of Eternity continue to encourage those who still believe. Even those who are not supposed to even exist. Thus the tale of Adaryn begins.
