Four factions, each based on a different element--Ember for fire, Aquarius for water, Eden for earth, and Aurea for air--rose from the ashes of the old world, torn apart by war, and created a new country, Terra. The people living within them became adapted to and dependent on each specific element as a result of the radiation remains from the nuclear weapons.

But for some, it evolved some further. They adapted powers, the ability to wield the elements once they reach the age of eighteen. These people are called Gifteds.

Delta is a Gifted from Aquarius, just receiving her powers. But when something unexpected and completely unbelievable happens, she is suddenly the cause of the first war in over two hundred years.
