The Mist has hidden demigods safe for millennia, and magic has helped wizard kind flourish for generations. Neither of them has known about the other, but both sources of power come from a single source-the goddess Hecate.  When Hecate disappears, its up to three heroes to bring her back.  Enter Saphire, Evelyn and Leo.  Saphire and Evelyn are best friends at Ilvermorny. When Saphire receives an invitation to a summer camp, she's more than a little confused, especially since Evelyn is going, but won't share details with her. Evelyn, meanwhile, can't wait to show her best friend Camp Half Blood, where she's been going for her whole life. Leo Valdez becomes friends with them both, and together they must save Hecate and restore the Mist and magic.

Maybe they are just afraid of the power Leigh has in her hands; to start an entire different race. Many demigods have die and for some reason, Hecate and Terminus haven't been able to repair the borders around camp and monster attacks are more frequent. Leo was devastated when Leigh left and when she comes back, he needs to know why his heart was ripped in half, and he discovers there might be more to the girl he loves than he had ever known. They must go to the newly discovered Roman camp, pick up three other demigods, begin the quest to Rome, lose some team members in Tartaurs, close the Doors of Death, and inevitably wake Gaea. Sounds fun, right? Wrong. The diety Apate seems to want things to go her way. In doing so, pain is multiplied, and Livana is forced into her suffering. (Story cover by myself)
