Storyline is not the same as one in Star Wars. Takes place between the 3rd and 4th movies. Main character is a girl from Earth with a mysterious background who runs into the Star Wars Universe abruptly one day and not in the way she would expect.

Darth Vader's back story is still the same except he has an apprentice, Kylo Ren (same Kylo Ren in Star Wars 7, but not the son of Han Solo. His background is unknown)
