This has been a very cruel Summer for all writers, and even agents. There has never been so many non-responses, nudges and slow contacts ever. I have talked with and written about this with dozens of other writers. In addition and in a general sense, it seems book sales have plummeted straight across the board. Of course, that depends on a lot of factors. It seems like some of the best brand name independent and medium sized publishers have changed policy, hit a wall or have gone under.
I'm going to welcome your thoughts on this this matter, rather than go off on a tangent and explain what I think is happening.

It's the genre that keeps resurrecting itself, and just like a zombie it can be rather annoying and somewhat offputting. But this writer may just have one last trick up his sleeve. And he's going to need it. Because Andrew Price is in trouble - government agents want to kill his girlfriend so that he will get back to work. And he's not going to stand for that because it's been a while since he had a girlfriend. Who says chivalry is dead? They think the only way to save themselves is to create the next human race with the immune ability to survival. They will be stronger, tougher , the next generation formed to perfection. Great! But who are you to judge? Fair question. This is not to humble-brag, but I've been critiquing and have worked with story development for quite some time, and I've picked up a lot along the way. ☙ - As an Ambassador, I work on content projects. ☙ - If you look at my profile, you'll see everything I've published so far has managed to standout in one way or another, whether by leading me to become a Wattpad Star; or by winning a Watty (twice!); or by being picked as a Top 10 in major Wattpad contests (twice!); or being featured. All I'm saying is I'm no slouch. I'm not brilliant either. But I've got some experience around what can catch an agent, editor, or judge's eye, and I'd like to share that with the community. ☙ - In another lifetime, I used to work for HBO in Development and at ICM (the talent agency) in their writers' department which means I understand how professionals quickly gauge whether or not they'll take a closer look at a work and/or make an offer. wrong turn. I got a wrong turn. I, Alexa Johnson, make another huge mistake in life by believing in someone and giving all my heart to him and then let him crushed my heart and throw it away just like it is not important. I realize that I am too easy to open my heart for someone else without thinking about consequences. I can say I regret making such a decision. I thought my life would be perfect after I failed my first marriage, but I was wrong in everything. Everything I did is wrong. Thinking he is the right man for me and will live with me for the rest of our life just like our vows. everything was fake. I was dumb. Super dumb. Always believe that the fairytale is real. Black Hybrids ~The 38 Saga's 4th Book~
14 years with peace and quiet; 14 years with no major disturbances; 14 years of Petra being dead, Pearl grieving and the agents of the Squidbeak Splatoon dealing with minor issues. Not to mention Cora (Agent 3) and Tobias (Agent 8) starting a family, Lance and Marie getting married and so much more. 14 years of peace... Isn't that a little too long for our main characters? I think our main villain would agree with that. So what would happen if a familiar member of the huge, confusing family, reappears but as a villain, 3 people already having known about them being alive? (Theoretically) What would happen when people are kidnapped, experimented on, turned evil against their will and forced to fight their families? What if... They couldn't save those who they dearly loved, and had to watch them die? The agents would say that it's nothing new, but within the chaos of this new villain, they would all realise that this fight would be something new. This adventure was going to be different to anything else they have done in their lifetime. This adventure was going to change all of their lives, PERMANENTLY. And it all starts with Petra, better known as Keigo. ---------------------------- 4th book out of 6.5 in the 38 Saga!
