"Mom! Where's Caleb?" My mom smiles. "He's went to the University early." She plays with her fingers which are seeming a lot more interesting to her all of a sudden. "So, you know how you are trying to get in Divergent University?" 

I nod my head slowly confusion overwhelming me. She clears her throat. "Well how about we change that to Roth University?" I furrow my brows and laugh. "Mom that school is for boys, remember?"

She nibbles on her lips. She takes a deep breathe and say really quickly, "I need you to go there undercover to spy on Caleb." My smile drops. 

"Mom," I say cautiously. "What did he do?" My mom walks around the counter that has been separating us. "He has been acting off and I want you to be close friends with him to find out."

I start making mental pros and cons. Con, I can't be a girl. Pro, it would be so cool. I made my decision. "Yes."

I opened my eyes to see a dozen more staring right back, it was like standing in the hall of mirrors. I look down at myself and see dirt on my arm, I rub at it but it won't come off. I look at my other arm and see the same thing, just lighter, I rub that too. My eyes adjust to the sudden change of light and I can see that it wasn't dirt, they're tattoos. She doesn't remember Uriah, Zeke, Tobias, Will, Christina. Dauntless. What happens when some of her memories of Dauntless come back? of her inside the walls, the Chicago walls?
