    Nakapila kaming lahat sa isang babae na nakaupo sa harap. May lamesang tambak ng mga papel ang nakapagitan sa amin.  
              
            "Ilan lahat?" tanong niya sa lalaking kaharap. Titig na titig siya rito habang naghihintay ng sagot.
              
         "Dalawa." sagot ng lalaki. Tumaas naman ang kilay ng babae at gumuhit ang pagkadismaya sa mukha nito.
              
          "Dalawa lang? Masyadong konti. Bumalik ka na lang kapag marami na." sabi niya rito na may tono ng pagkairita. Umalis ang lalaki at sumunod naman ang isang lalaki sa harap ko.
              
     "Ilan?"
            
            "Isa." sagot ng lalaki. Tumaas ulit ang kilay ng babae. Magsasalita na sana ito nang pinutol siya ng lalaki.
              
  "Isang daan."
              
             Sabay kaming napasinghap ng babae. Hindi maalis ang pagkahanga sa mukha niya.
              
            Natigilan ako nang lumingon siya sa akin at kinindatan ako.
