As a young boy,
Ario never recalled much from his past.
All he had been told was that the sacrifice had been boldly printed onto his body and was to symbolize his love for El Sol.
Ario's servant, Vincent, is in a s-ss contract with him and promises to fulfill it. Neither the two contract holders mention their past or how they ended up in this type of business. All they do is pledge their loyalty to El Sol's needs and the two themselves.
It is not too long before Ario begins recalling snippets of his memories. Although he is expecting his servant, Vincent, to recover them as well, he soon finds out that he has already kept a few of them hidden. Like how exactly he knew who Ario was before they had ever met.

Throughout the story, Ario will meet the souls of many who live in the same lost path, seeking a revelation from their god El Sol, and their goddess, La Luna, who hasn't shown herself for years.
All the contract holders have pasts which they cannot remember, except one of them, who seems to hold the entire world of Paparazzi.
