Ever wondered when you look at yourself in the mirror, as to who are you in this world of 8.5 million people?
Considering the proportion, the world would have been just fine without you, the sun would rise, set, the clouds would set in. And people would simply continue their blind race towards accomplishment just as they did, before they were even conceived.
Everything would take place just as its supposed to. As its been designed to.
So You grow up, get yourself fed, learn new things, run a family, spend some quality time, and then, die.
But hey, wait. Isn't this the life of the stray dog living by your street too?
What makes your life any different?
Human beings are the most meticulously designed creation in the ecosystem.
Why?
Why were WE designed to be
'better' than all the other creations of God?
What is the purpose behind our existence?

Everything started in 2036. The pollution was so bad that the end of the world was predicted to be right around the corner. As complete panic set in around the world, the rich and important people were all gathered and placed on giant spaceships with enough resources and room to house generations of human beings. Before they left though, the government leaders fired As a result, most of the human population died off and earth was a complete wasteland. The little that survived started building local communities and trying to survive in the destroyed excuse of a planet. On the disaster of a planet, creatures mutated and were born out of the nuclear chemicals; creating new species and monsters that hunted humans. While hundreds and hundreds of years passed, the monsters kept evolving and the people kept adapting while still trying to keep a sort of community. They didn't want to lose all of their humanity and become nothing more than animals that hunted the monsters: then they would truly be no better than the monsters themselves. I'm your typical person; I have a wife and two kids, a dog, a cat, and live in a house in a small community in BC. I was raised on the Prairies and understand the value of hard work. I have studied business, economics, commodity trading, carpentry, and other functions within our society, all which have led me to write this story, the story of a burning son. So what is The Burning Son all about? It's a quest to change the way we perceive our global society, and an effort to change the way we look at our history and our future. Our society has operated efficiently and progressively for centuries. Your wish comes true and you find something peculiar in your backyard the next day. From there, you end up in a world inhabited by robots for nearly four months because your device was broken. But what do you do when you are about to die of starvation and are falling for one particular robot who has promised to help you get home? In the future, science has found a way to re-animate the dead and make them pliant servants for the wealthy. They buy the units for 10,000 for a base model. More attractive units sell higher as well as the more physically fit the model is the higher the price. The units are used for anything and everything their owner wants, from household work to administrative duties, to even being sexual companions. They are each programmed with a hard drive in their brain that works like a computer and allows them to have a quick mind and agility, as well as nano machines in their body to repair any damage that can occur with normal usage. There are some people who still view the units as a dead body and have trouble interacting with them in their daily life. But most of the population is too poor to even afford one so this problem is left to the upper classes that can buy the units. For some, poverty is worse than death.
