Little did she know, a certain blond haired dwarf would come into her life and change it. Being the next in line for the throne after his uncle, Fili had a duty. He had to fight by his uncle's side to reclaim Erebor, their home. That was it. The last thing he expected from joining the quest was meeting an elf maiden and falling for her more and more with each passing day. But there was one problem: Thorin hated elves. Rollo and Lucy opposite sides of the same coin, Rollo a cheerful boy with the glow of innocence still around him and Lucy an overprotective cynical woman, who fears the moment her brother will lose his kind heart to the demands of the world. The Mother a creature bound within the center of the earth, feels the chains gripping her beneath the earth's crust weakening. Festering Darkness
After a failed spider mission, Legolas is left injured beyond what the Greenwood healers can help. Thranduil, worried for his son's Fea, sends him to Imladris for help. But the unit escorting the prince is attacked on the way and Legolas, after barely escaping, then fleas to the most unlikely of places where he hides, refusing to tell anyone of his whereabouts, afraid to go to Imladris, afraid to go home. This story fills in some gaps from The Return and creates a few more that I may delve into in a later fic.
