Cas Novak hasn't had the best upbringing. Single father, Chuck Shurley was left with Cas's older brothers, Gabriel, Michael, and Luci as soon as Cas was born. With a father gone most of the time, the kids raised themselves. Michael and Luci both getting jobs at the age of fourteen and eighteen. Determined to give Cas and Gabriel a better childhood than what they had.
But better isn't always good. As years go by, Cas soon realizes that the future holds many changes. And not the ones Cas wants. Cas--the daughter of Chuck Shurley, and the only girl in her family--wants to be a boy.

Castiel Novak didn't want to go to the dinner. But his parents told him to be there, he couldn't skip it. His life was okay at this point. He had a couple of friends, did good at school, his parents were cool (well as cool as they can be when you are a single child and adopted), he didn't have panic attacks anymore, he managed to hide his wings and no one bullied him anymore, almost. At this point he didn't want anything to change, but he usually didn't get what he wished for. That night everything changed. He knew he shouldn't have gone to that dinner, but that doesn't mean he regret it. He met his best friend that night, a best friend he might be falling for.
