I was finally of age.

This day was famed to be both the most important day of any prodigy's life, but also the most degrading and humiliating. Today would be the day the father of my children would be chosen for me. I had no opportunity to offer my opinion on the subject except for a questionnaire discussing the type of man to which I would be most attracted...

Her eyes scanned my file. Math prodigy. IQ of 183. Specialty in statistics and probability. Low emotional quotient. Problems with connecting with her peers. Orphan. Deaf.

Mulan Field, named after an Asian princess, by her emotional mother has to face the greatest challenge every enabled adolescent has had to in the years since the fall of the United States. She must mate with another enabled adolescent in order to try to create a smarter, more physically fit, more artistic, more musically inclined race. They are tasked to combine the best of all worlds. A fear of physical contact that comes with her low emotional quotient, paired with her huge IQ, makes her very public reproductive obligation even more challenging. The selection process for her possible mates, which has been monitored by the state since she arrived at age eleven, has finally provided her with two possible options. One comes with the obligation of marriage if she were to mate with him. The other comes with a secret that could complicate all of their lives.

Futuristic teen fiction novel centered around a complicated love triangle. Inspired by the CBS show Scorpion and Aldous Huxley's Brave New World. NOT A FANFICTION.
