Worrying about people is kind of programmed into my system. It's a curse if you ask me," I surprised myself a lot more than I thought was possible with my answer. And what did he do? Laugh! He fucking laughed! Not full on rolling- on- the- floor laughter but a laugh nonetheless. "This isn't funny, Tyler." "It kind of is. Almost a month ago, I would've sworn that you hated me. Be careful, Specs," he squinted down at me, "or you might actually sound as if you like me." I rolled my eyes. "Don't flatter yourself. I was concerned. Don't confuse that with affection. It's two very, very different things." *** When you think that all is not lost in the world. That not all men are pricks and that not all sushi is bad. He smirks and moves closer to me, coming to my side of the booth and caging me against the window. "I'll give you what you want if you do." "And what do I want?" I question, holding eye contact. "My head between your legs." ❀❀❀ "Dating or not... you're still mine." Astoria always thought that the world was set up a certain way. That way being two levels of living. There were the rich people, and then there were the people who could barely afford a pack of ramen noodles. Obviously she was the ladder. She always hated the rich people she would see around the city. They had more money than they needed and didn't think to help the lower people. She was always alone. Her mother died when giving birth to her and her father gave her to her grandmother who died of old age before she could turn 3. She was orphaned and in foster homes her whole life, being alone was all she knew. On top of that her job as an exotic dancer barley covered her bills and she was late 3 months in payment. What was left for her? She had nothing. Until one of the club Clients offers her a deal that may change her life... Cold Water
[BWWM] I was only twelve years old when the world turned cold. The day my mom died in that car accident, I felt like someone had dumped a bucket of ice water over my heart. My dad, who had always been my hero, suddenly became a stranger, filled with rage and blame. He couldn't see that I was hurting, too; he only saw me as a reminder of his loss. The accusations cut deep. He said it was my fault for being there, for not doing something to save her. For being the reason she was in the car in the first place. In the years that followed, things only got worse. The abuse started gradually-a harsh word here, a shove there-but it escalated, leaving scars that I carried long after the physical pain faded. I was drowning in my own despair, struggling to keep my head above water while my father's anger raged like a storm around me. I only had a break from his anger when I started living with Aunt Dina-my mom's older sister. Well, that was because she found me nearly dead on my bed after I took a dozen pills. I was tired of living. I had hit rock bottom. The harsh whispers that followed me around and the stares at school. I pretended not to notice, like it didn't bother me. But it did. I was alone.
