Riley Matthews is a sophomore at Abigail Adams High School right in the middle of Greenwich Village, New York City. She's grown up a city girl, always in the midst of the craziness that is NYC. She could never survive in a place where you couldn't always hear the cars in the street and the bustle of the city.

Lucas Friar is a Texas boy, born and raised. From the outskirts of Austin, Texas, Lucas lives around animals and the farm. He's used to knowing all his neighbors. There are a billion stars in the sky and quiet every night. He can't imagine living where the noise never stops and the world never sleeps.

But what happens when two completely opposite worlds collide? And maybe, maybe they aren't quite as opposite as they think.
