This is something that encouraged me a bit when reading it again. I found an old high school assignment that I saw as slightly pretentious. While it is, it was originally a text conversation with my buddy Chris. You can see it any way you want to after reading it. It's not meant to show off writing. It's meant to just get you to think and feel.

These poems are just some of the little pieces that make up my life. Whenever I get inspired by someone or something, I write a little story about it in the form of a poem. In a way, it helps me express what I have in my mind in a very vague way. I'm not that kind of a direct person, but there are things that are sometimes, better to kept secret. Remember science class and looking at a piece of onion skin under the microscope? It's still onion skin, but it appears completely different when you look it in a different light. I've been through my own struggle, whether it was created in my head by way of prolonged sadness or bitterness/resentment, or if I was struggling with things I had no control over like failed friendships, a broken heart, or family drama. This is my advice to you based off of my life experiences.
