A woman is dismembered and her body parts are spread throughout the Port Huron, Michigan area. Six people each find one of parts and calls the police. Carole Sage, one of the witness' friends, tells the detectives she sees the murder in her minds' eye.
Detectives Joe Leverette and Phil Marsden are assigned the case and during the initial investigation discover that this murderer is not finished. Leverette received a box that is placed on his desk, the lab is called and the box examined. Inside the box is the head of the last witness who found a body part.
Then another witness is murdered, beheaded, but even with the help of Carole Sage the murderer gets away.
