Not ever knowing her father or anyone other family but her mother she had no where to go. She soon realize that death city was the best place to escape her deadly mother. Even so there were threats in death city. She always heard her mother talking about lord death being their worst threat. Before you realized it, lord death found you, but instead of killing you he took you in and raised you away from the everyone close to him. That includes his only son.

As it's well knows, shinigami liked to gamble to entertain themselves. The king himself gambled his own life and power on her and a few years before she went into Wammy's. The king bet his that she wouldn't risk her life to save a stranger and used his death note to put her in a situation that she could save a child's life by risking her own or continue walking and not give them a second glance. She saved the child and gained his death note, the shinigami eyes, healing and self-healing, the power to bring back to dead, and knowing whenever someone has been killed using a death note. She had not to try draw attention to herself, since others couldn't see the shinigami she talked to. As the shinigami queen it was hard to be normal. She traveled for cases and decided to dye her hair inky purple when she was in America. She returned to Japan to go to school and observe the Kira case.Complete
