To be rogue was to be a wildcard. It was to be free of a pack, therefore free of rules and responsibilities. However, to be rogue was to be violent. It was to kill for the mere feeling of adrenaline, to kill for the smallest of reasons. It meant ruthlessness and bloodshed. To be beta was to be ordered and give orders. It was to protect and serve, to be there if ever there was a time in which the alpha could not serve his respectable purpose. It was to maintain order, to prevent any harm to the pack. It was also to patrol borders and to kill any possible threat that may be. It meant to kill or be killed in the line of justice. These categories could be considered polar opposites. Of course, it is often said that opposites attract.
