Rodger, a small skinny boy of 12 years from the great Jordan College of Oxford, longs to be more than the little kitchen boy he is known as. In a close friendship with Lyra Belacqua, an unparented girl who lives amongst the scholars, he spends his time exploring every turret and tower of the famous college, not without a scolding or two from Mrs Lonsdale the housekeeper. As they reach adolescence, tensions form as Rodger cannot ignore his jealousy over how naïve and oblivious Lyra gets everything handed to her on a plate through life. While she is happy playing in Oxford forever as it appears to Rodger, he is the one that desires to learn as she does and escape his normal yet monotonous lifestyle. However, everything changes when the word of a mysterious group called the Gobblers spreads around town, and Rodger regrets his previous wishes when he quickly gets swept up in the drama. After the war, Lyra Potter is utterly, completely, and unapologetically done with the wizarding world. The media? Shitstorm. The Ministry? Corrupt as ever. The so-called Light Lords? Idiots. The so-called Dark Lords? Even bigger idiots. So, despite her well-meaning (but infuriating) friends, Lyra packs up, flips the wizarding world the metaphorical bird, takes her godson Teddy, and vanishes. Her destination? Mystic Falls. A quiet, unassuming town where one of her Black ancestors once built a lavish estate-the Black Palace. She hopes for peace and quiet-a fresh start, away from magic, war, and endless expectations. But deep down? She knows better. There is no peace for her. Why? Because she is, after all, Death's Little Angel of Chaos. And a Potter. She doesn't seek trouble. Trouble finds her. And so, before she even realizes it, she's swept up in yet another whirlwind- Only this time, it's not scheming politicians, megalomaniac wizards, or dark prophecies. This time, it's- Vampires. Werewolves. Shapeshifters. Doppelgängers-apparently, she's one. An ancient ancestor who oddly approves of her. An annoying twin she has zero interest in. Two ridiculously dramatic vampire brothers. And an entire family of goddamn Originals. What has the world come to? Nothing. Just a storm called love hitting her in the most unexpected way. Her? Entangled with the Original Hybrid of all people? And did she mention she has her little godson with her? "You have got to be joking," she thinks.
