In a post apocalyptic world, there are three major species, the Cats, the Wolves, and the Birds. Humans have died out and have left no evidence of their passing due to the magic in the world that was released. The three major species have evolved to fit their new magic filled environment, leading them to have human like intelligence and special magical abilities.

In the Shattered Ice tribe a young cat will soon get her powers, and start training to take leadership of the tribe from her parents. What happens when her powers aren't what she expected, nor what she thinks they are. This young cat runs away from home, to join forces with another outcast to find out what her powers are really used for.
