19-year-old Rose Levy is scared, confused and on the run. A long history of drug addiction stretching back several years in her life is partly why, as she's lost everything, and forced to hide somewhere from the persistent drug dealers looking for her she tries to get to Alaska, which is the place she figures where no one would look for her.

Kelvin Paige has just recently turned 20 and is trying to figure out whether he wants to leave his little town in Alaska for good, look for luck in some other part of the world, or stay in the cozy little community. His brooding is interrupted however, when a strange girl with pale skin and a skeletal figure shows up. And she needs his help.
