I could see darkness all around me. I could see the vague silhouettes of the barren trees, towering above the fallen leaves scattered across the ground. And of course I could see them. Their eyes glowing in the distance. Hundreds of them all fixated on me. They're always watching when you let your guard down. Never leave your back exposed to open space. Especially dark space. That's where there'll be. They can't hurt you unless they lure you into the woods alone after dark, leaving you defenseless. That's exactly what they did to me.

My dog had ran away the day before, so I followed a faint whimper coming from the woods. It lead me here. No life insight. The whimpering stopped, and that's when I could see the hundreds of pairs of glowing eyes. I was in their territory now.

They only ever let their eyes be seen from a distance. The only time they even show just their eyes is when they're going to kill you. The only thing I have against them is my old flashlight I brought with me. They can't hurt you in the light. I quickly flipped the switch and aimed it at the watchers. Now they can't move. They're frozen in place. If the light goes out then I'm dead. Even if the batteries don't die overnight, who knows how many there are behind me just waiting. The beam of light cannot shine all around me.

They want to get you scared. Your fear only makes them stronger. I just stand there with my heart racing unable to protect myself. Trying to be as calm as possible. But how can I stay calm when every single hair on the back of my neck is standing up straight? There are many phobias in this world. Some people are scared of spiders. Others are afraid of tight spaces. But I can assure you; the greatest fear is the unknown.

I woke to a sudden breeze invading the warmth from the heavy blanket that caressed my skin. Here, alone with my thoughts, the still, calm quiet in the atmosphere is almost painful. I feel suffocated in the clingy, static air. In quiet, still moments like these, I can almost feel Him. I don't know who "Him" is, but I can feel his presence. It's almost calming, especially on fearful, anxiety fueled nights. Usually, he was the strongest when I had a nightmare. The nightmares weren't as common now, but, right after everything happened, I was having them every night. I'd wake up and swear I was drenched in blood, my eyes and lips sticky, my nose filled with the smell of iron and fuel. After everything, that's when Him first came. From there, he just never left. I can usually sense when Him is near. Today, though, his presence is stronger. I can almost feel Him next to me, weighing down the mattress. Some nights, I roll over and imagine how he looks, envision his smile or the sparkle in his eyes. He's never there and I'm left clutching to the thought that he exists, staring into empty air. Tonight, though, I swear I can reach out and touch him. Extending my hand gently, I sweep my hand out into the darkness and meet an inexplicable warmth. A scream rips from my lungs as hands cover my face and two icy blue eyes stare back at me, daring me to speak again. A soft cloth caressed my nose and mouth before I felt myself fade into bed. My dream continued the one I'd been having for the past couple of nights. I ran, gasping for breath, through the familiar woods from a dark figure behind me. The faster I tried to run, the slower I seemed to go, until it was like I was running in place. I knew I needed to run. I was terrified of what the figure would do when he caught me. "Mara Leigh," a deep, smooth voice called. It was almost hypnotic. That was new. The figure had never spoke before now. I ran as fast as I could go, eyes searching the forest floor for a big stick or something that I could use to defend myself. "Mara Leigh!" the voice came again, this time more insistent. The forest slowly started to fade and I started to awake to someone shaking my shoulders. "Beau?" I mumbled, turning my head to the side. What's Beau doing in my room this time of night? Why is he shaking me? "Do not call me that name." My eyes flew open as I jumped at the voice from my dream. A face was right in front of mine, and just like the voice, it wasn't Beau. Before I could form a scream, a hand covered my mouth. I tried to bite it but I couldn't get my mouth to open. He's too strong. I started to use my whole body to try to get away, but he crawled on top of me, holding me down. I pulled the hidden knife out from under my pillow and slashed as hard as I could at him, but he just grabbed my wrist and squeezed it until the pain made me drop the knife. Then he grabbed both my hands in one of his and held them over my head. He held me down while I struggled. I grunted and moved and tried to kick and scream, but I only wore myself out. Exhausted, I stopped thrashing and let the tears flow freely down my cheeks. I didn't know what to do, so I just tried to prepare myself for whatever was coming.

***HIGHEST RANKING IN VAMPIRE*** #3 - 26-9-2018 #4 - 13-8-2018 and 23-09-2018 #5 - 29-8-2018 and 5-9-2018 "What happened?" It's all I can muster at this stage but I figure it's a place to start. "You had a head injury and passed out. I cleaned you up and put you in here to rest." His voice is now calm, much different to what I heard from the other room. "You said you cleaned me up. Did you also change my clothes?" I recall his words and am almost too shocked to ask about his invasion of my privacy. A devilish smile crosses his lips as he coyly looks at his feet. He is enjoying my embarrassment. "You're clothes had blood on them and I wasn't about to put you in a clean bed with dirty clothes on. Trust me; you have nothing I haven't seen before." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vampires are real and after an eternity of hiding, they have chosen to let the world know of their existence. But when they emerged from the shadows, they were met with hostility and discernment. It wasn't long until they were segregated from humans and forced to live in Vampire Only areas while the rest of the world went on with their lives. Fed up with this malicious arrangement, the vampires waged a war on mankind and came out the victors. Mankind were forced to retreat behind concrete walls designed to keep vampires at bay and this is where they stayed for decades. Evie is a human that has just fallen victim to a trap set by vampires so that she can be used as a source of food or even a plaything for a high bidding vampire. But to her bewilderment, she is taken to Alex. A dangerous and high ranking vampire that enjoys toying with his victims. Knowing how precarious this vampire is, Evie still can't shake the feeling that his striking blue eyes are reminiscent of something but what. But what lengths will she go to find out more about him and every other vampire? I guess it's true what they say. Opposites really do attract.

I pulled the covers off my legs and tried to stand up. My attempt of standing up failed. But I tried again. I was so dizzy I fell against the nightstand, successfully catching Dante's attention. - Go back to sleep pet. He sternly stated. - I don't want to sleep with you watching me. - Can't you see I'm not even paying attention to you. He said not even making eye contact. - I don't care your mere presence is still annoying. I tried to stand again and I was finally able to stand on my feet. I looked up at the ceiling and whispered a thank you, for not embarrassing myself by falling down again. I made my way to the bathroom but my legs gave up on me half way through. I internally slapped myself and groaned. I fell down supporting my upper bodys weight with my shaking hands. I heard him sigh and saw him stand up. - Why can't you just listen to me once? He asked crouching down to my level. - I already told you why. He traced my lips with his thumb and held my chin up making me gaze into his dark eyes. - If you want to get up so badly, then you have ten minutes to shower and change. I want you outside all done. If you don't finish in 10 minutes, I'll drag you out of the shower and you'll be facing my father and the others naked. ~contains mature content Started: - Finished: 27/ 8/ 2021 Please do not copy, rewrite or re-upload!!! WARNING: This book deals with a highly controversial subject matter. Reader discretion is advised. I fell in love with someone dark, twisted and evil. The sick part is... I can't stop. I had no idea that the man I fell in love with was a monster. I had no idea he was a psycho. There's a lot of sick people in this world, Evie. Believe me, I know." His words have tainted all of my memories. The warnings he gave me have each left a scar. He told me he was evil. He told me he was a monster. I didn't believe him. Instead, I fell in love. I now have a choice to make. I can betray him or learn to live with what he's done. What would you do? Excerpt. "Why?" I ask him, trembling uncontrollably as I kneel down before him. "Tell me why you killed them?" "Because they weren't you." He answers simply, gazing at me intently. "I couldn't have you... so I killed them." "My God..." I whisper, scrambling away from him in fear. "You can't tell anyone." He growls, chasing after me in desperation. "They'll tear us apart and lock me away forever." "Isn't that what you deserve?!" I cry, covering my face with my hands. "I deserve you." He whispers, prising my hands away from me. "And I've made a vow to keep you." "Even if it's against my will?" I sob, weeping violently. "I don't want that." He murmurs, raking his fingers through his hair as he begins to lose control. "But I will if I have to." He places a kiss against my forehead and my breathing slows down. His touch calms me and I despise myself for it, torn between scratching his eyes out and asking him to save me. Prepare yourself for a dark, addictive, gruelling and twisted story. Choose your own ending. For the first time my readers can select the ending they prefer. *This New Adult romance contains mature themes, strong language, sexual content and possible triggers which may distress some readers. Newling by xM0rphine

Have you ever thought that vampires existed? When you think of vampires, do garlic and stakes come to mind? Well, vampires do exist, but we are not what you think. Vampires aren't just blood-craving monsters who hunt humans; we are peaceful. We do have sharp fangs, that much is true, but we aren't allergic to garlic; in fact, some of us love it, myself included. We don't burst into flame, or melt in the sunlight, and we definitely do not sparkle in the sun either. As vampires, we live for thousands, and sometimes even hundreds of thousands of years (if a pesky, self-righteous human doesn't drive a stake into our heart first...). I am not young by vampire terms. New and young vampires, are "Newlings". Until a vampire is at least one hundred years old, they can't turn a human into a vampire, and are considered a Newling. But I'm what we call a "Maturling". Maturlings are at least a century old. In vampire years, I'm one hundred, on the dot. Though in human years, I'm about twenty-one. There is a third category of vampires called "Purelings". Purelings are vampires who have always been - well, vampires, - and have never had a single human in their family tree. Purelings, unlike all other vampires, can turn a human at any age. (Imagine being turned into a vampire by a toddler... yikes). Like with all cultures, there are things that are forbidden. For vampires, we are not allowed, by any means, to turn a human out of spite, or if they refuse to be one of us, but when feelings are surface, they can change things forever...
