Evelyn Mae Connolly's entire world has been flipped upside down. After a whirlwind of events, leaving the United States torn apart by war. As a last ditch effort to save the country from sinking, a new government has formed appearing after the fall of Washington D.C. The population has plummeted and America is weak, the only way to save her is to repopulate quick and effectively. Every person with the ability to reproduce must take a test to match them with the most suitable partner. Torn away from her family, boyfriend, and life in Texas, Evelyn is thrown into Maine and the life of Bale Finley. However, she quickly learns she cant leave it all behind, drama from the life she chose follows her into the life she's given, when her scorned ex, Max takes matters into his own hands. Will she learn to love the man who she has been assigned to? Or will she cut all love out of her life and never trust again. Evelyn's modern lifestyle clashes with Bale's traditional outlook on the world, neither knew what hit them.
