Kazumi is a girl who grew up in our world even though she was not born there. When she was younger, she was placed in a mental hospital until she was eight years old due to claiming that she was from another world. Eventually, she realized that no one would believe her and stopped talking about it. After a few months, she was released from the mental hospital only to go into foster care. Her foster parents ended up being alcoholics and abusive. However, no one else knew except Akira, Kazumi's best friend that she had met at the school she had started going to. Akira was Kazumi's only friend as news had spread around the school that Kazumi was a former patient in a mental hospital. At the age of ten, both Kazumi and Akira find themselves in another world after being hit by a car. How will they cope with the idea of being ninja in a new world? What happens when Kazumi meets almost an exact image of herself except older? And... What's all this talk about traveling between both worlds and time?

But in a world where mysteries are meant to be kept, how can anyone say that the ethereal races of the yōkai are non-existent? As Rin, Obito and Kakashi teach her about everything there is to know about living in the village, the silver-haired young boy finds himself intrigued by basically everything relating to Setsuko.
