Mature
Run down private detective Dexter Wright regains interest in his work when the case of Theron Whilder gets dropped in his lap. At first, he thinks it's just the average missing persons case, that perhaps Theron left to get away from the pressures of work and married life. However, after some digging, Dexter discovers some things that make him believe that Theron was involved in something far more sinister, and got in way over his head.

Theron's case takes a disturbing turn after Dexter receives a call from a private number, warning him to quit searching for Theron. The call is followed by threats in the mail, a masked man lurking the shadows, and unsettling pictures taped to his door. Deciding that whoever Theron was, he wasn't worth the trouble that he was going through to find him, and Dexter abandons the case, trying to resume life as normal.

A note slipped under his door in the middle of the night detailing a time and location for a meeting rekindles Dexter's interest in the case. Finally, Dexter and Theron meet, ending any obligations that Dexter had. Theron explains his involvement in a government program, and how he found plans to eradicate a targeted percent of the population using a genetically engineered virus. He explains that Dexter is in too deep and how he now has to help Theron find a way to stop this.

However, things get complicated when their partnership evolves beyond shutting down the virus and turns into something a little more heated. When passion stands in the way of focus their efforts come to a stand still and Dexter has to make an important decision about whether or not to continue with Theron or try to stop the government's plot on his own.

This story is not getting the attention it deserves, so I am attempting to "re-brand" it. Maybe no one "gets" it. If you want to read about "Normal" teenagers, maybe this isn't for you, it's more complicated than that. It's about a teenager who doesn't fit it, but doesn't want to, who has the best two friends that anyone could have. Who watched his father lose his job in the Recession and then loses his home, and how he copes, especially when he learns that their new house is haunted and the ghost is in his room. Michael was an average kid, although he's always stood out. He was a school jock but also a skater whose long blond hair almost reaches his waist. When his parents lived in a house in a home owners association like all his other friends, life seemed normal. Then his father lost his job and suddenly those "friends" weren't there anymore--except for his two best friends, Short Round and Dewey. The three are skaters, good ones, who live for girls and their skateboards. They're also basically good kids who take pride in being different without paying attention to it. When Michael loses his home and his family has to move they have his back. And they are there for him when the ghost girl starts following him around. Mariah was murdered when she was just 15, her remains were never found, although no one but her and her ghost friend, Crazy Girl, know where their bodies are buried. The house Michael now lives in is the one where she lived with her family, and her old room is now his. She appears to him one night, trying to taunt him, but against her will she is falling in love with the boy who lives in her old room. Slowly the two begin to fall in love and Mariah tells him her story, and of the hidden danger that lies up the street from him. A dangerous strangers loves to kill little girls, and his sister Kit
I believe in you - Sherlock Fanfiction. by Katiie_Sykes

[Sherlock x Female OC] The thing is, there is an empty, gaping hole at the base of John's throat where his overwhelming guilt and periodic bouts of torturous grief used to be. It would be so easy to... to be angry and punch a hole through the wall, through the foam of his pillow -- drive his fist through Sherlock's heart. But he remembers; in the most tragic and inopportune of fashion, remembers how angry he had been when Sherlock had jumped, how furious he had been at his funeral, and how it hadn't stopped him from breaking down at his grave nonetheless. The thing about his anger is this: it does nothing but leave him behind in the end, a bundle of nerves and frailty in his bones and an unsteady sway to his gait. It does nothing at all, but reduce marginally the constant, suffocating oppressiveness of his days bleeding into one another with a burst of adrenaline. The thing about his anger is this: it doesn't give him back Sherlock. So he gets a new flatmate- a woman named Holland. They were great friends at school and in fear he would be lonely again after Sherlock died he started to meet up with her, and soon, she moved in with him. They're just friends, though. No one could have a bond with John like Sherlock did. Sherlock was his best friend. But then Sherlock returns, and John is more furious than ever at him. Also, Sherlock and Holland seem to bond quite well, which is something Sherlock finds too complicated to explain itself.

"What is your predicament?" he repeated slowly I was getting pissed. My predicament is; I led my coworker and friend to an early grave, my fiancé if I dare call her that, was gallivanting around God knows where, doing God knows what. I had never even seen or held a gun all my life but in less than 48 hours I've somehow managed to stare down the barrel of a gun. I also endangered my family and anyone foolish enough to call me a friend and not too long ago I put an innocent woman, someone's grandmother in ICU. "What's your predicament?" Short legs asked again, spacing his words slowly as if each held a double meaning. My brain clicked suddenly; "I have delayed diagnosis" He nodded briefly. "Welcome. I'm Doctor Rasheed". ::::::::::::::::::::: Rex Obasi was just an average banker struggling to deal with his fiance dissapearing after eight years. In a crazed moment of greed, he steals valuable documents worth millions but there's something else in the mix; a piece of paper containing numbers - coordinates he doesn't understand. When the coordinates lead to a deadly human trafficking ring, operating under the guise of an N.G.O, Rex realizes he has stumbled on what is no doubt the most dangerous organized crime, operating since 1989. His life of deposit slips and checkbooks are turned upside down, now it's guns and bullets, knives and assassins. It's up to Rex to put an end to it, redeem his conscience, and just maybe he could get a second shot at love. But there's every possibility that a bullet is coming next.
