Run down private detective Dexter Wright regains interest in his work when the case of Theron Whilder gets dropped in his lap. At first, he thinks it's just the average missing persons case, that perhaps Theron left to get away from the pressures of work and married life. However, after some digging, Dexter discovers some things that make him believe that Theron was involved in something far more sinister, and got in way over his head. Theron's case takes a disturbing turn after Dexter receives a call from a private number, warning him to quit searching for Theron. The call is followed by threats in the mail, a masked man lurking the shadows, and unsettling pictures taped to his door. Deciding that whoever Theron was, he wasn't worth the trouble that he was going through to find him, and Dexter abandons the case, trying to resume life as normal. A note slipped under his door in the middle of the night detailing a time and location for a meeting rekindles Dexter's interest in the case. Finally, Dexter and Theron meet, ending any obligations that Dexter had. Theron explains his involvement in a government program, and how he found plans to eradicate a targeted percent of the population using a genetically engineered virus. He explains that Dexter is in too deep and how he now has to help Theron find a way to stop this. However, things get complicated when their partnership evolves beyond shutting down the virus and turns into something a little more heated. When passion stands in the way of focus their efforts come to a stand still and Dexter has to make an important decision about whether or not to continue with Theron or try to stop the government's plot on his own.

INTRODUCTION: Missing person reports were just piling up one after another these days. But none of the victims were found alive. After the killer got what he wanted from victim's family, the next day person would be found dead. People are starting to move out from the city. It's gotten worse as hours passed. Phones are ringing at the police stations and 911 calls are getting more and more desperate. Not many things were found out about this town's killer. But, the way people are describing him- yes him- shows that they all see him as an old man called the Gentleman. He got this name from the way he puts his deceased victims bodies. Lying on their back, carefully placed, hair brushed and clean, face without any makeup, but covered with black veil, white nightie with small bouquet in their arms that are placed on their chest. Beautifully horrific sight if you ask me. They all appeared to be women in their early or mid 20s, brunettes with blue eyes, skinny and average height. The Gentleman is described as someone in his late 30s or early 40s, is into art, but mostly sculptures as he shows by placing his victims in recognizable positions. On most of dead women's necks could be seen small tattoos that were assotiated with life and death- butterfly with its wings painted like skull. That was all that we knew of the Gentleman until something happened few days ago...
