Fireshine

Thirteen year old Sadie Shine lives in a little house out in the middle of Nebraska. She thinks she has power over fire because some strange things have been happening when she is around it. Then a small fire in her microwave morphs into a huge fire that burns her whole house down. Trying to put it out, her parents and older brother die in the process. The house explodes and blasts her through a window, knocking her unconscious. When she awakens, she not only doesn't know where she is, but she feels more powerful than she was. She knows she should be dead, but she isn't. Sadie is on a whole different planet, but she is not alone. A young boy about her age named Keenan tells her all about what has been happening with her fire powers and why she is there on that strange planet. Keenan is a mystery to Sadie. She knows that he has fire powers, too. He tells her that everybody who has fire powers come to this planet from Earth at some point. On this planet people can live for as long as they choose. Sadie and Keenan develop a friendship that leads to a little more. Soon, Sadie trains with Keenan to use her power and control it, because soon, she will need it to resurrect loved ones that were lost...
