In Braeden Evanheart's world, the point of life is to die in the most gruesome, most memorable, most entertaining way possible. It becomes a game to send people to another world and watch their lives progress before their long-awaited end.

Braeden's dream is to play in the Game of Life, a competition where the contestants are sent to another world to die while everyone at home watches. After years of practice and building a reputation, he earns a place in the competition. What he didn't expect to encounter in this strange world called Earth was a girl. A girl who could make him forget his mission to die, who could teach him the complexity of human feelings, and, most importantly, who could show him the true value and beauty of life.
