In an alternate version of the early 16th century, alchemy is a forbidden practise. The alchemists are pursued by the army, spies and zealots who will stop at nothing to destroy their order.
Henry Hunterson is a boy living his regular dull life when The Alchemist secretly moves into the outskirts of his small village. With the whole town set against him, Henry visits and is taught by The Alchemist. But on the verge of a breakthrough, when everything goes wrong, Henry is found out and separated from The Alchemist. Can Henry make it to the Monastery before he is caught?
