This is the story of Topaz, an outcast to society. She is what is called a hybrid. She and her younger sister Zara are fighting to survive in a dangerous world, constantly on the move. When they're taken in by a group of people with their own types of peculiarities, she realized that the world is so much bigger than they realized.
