Have you ever been miles away from home? Have you ever been so deathly scared of this new place, that you're scared to even venture out into the open? Have you ever met someone new, and didn't trust them one little bit? Have you ever thought, hey, maybe these people shouldn't be trusted? I've had those thoughts, and more. But how can you make such a statement, when you've never even stepped foot on this planet once? A lot of you are probably saying, "how can you say that? You look just like us!" Well...that statement is completely false. Because do you want to know the whole truth? I am an alien from the planet Rivoroiak. I look like you on the outside, but once you cut into the skin....that's a whole other story.
My name is Anika Rosald, I am an alien from the planet Rivoroiak, and I crash landed on Earth.

Anika Rosald doesn't know what to think. She was just cruising through space, going on adventures like she had always dreamed of when she was a little girl when she lived on the planet Rivoroiak, in her spaceship called the CRIVEX. Until, her beautiful machine gets corrupted by someone unknown who obviously has it out for her, Anika's life is sent into a downward spiral as she crash lands on Earth, her beautiful machine gets destroyed, and she gets discovered by some humans. Now, it's a race against the clock as Anika tries to fix the CRIVEX, and get off of this (crazy) planet before the humans realize she's not so human.

The world is screwed up place. Everyone in it just wants peace when it isn't promised to nobody. We work for ourselves to try to improve our ways of life only for someone who has more to take it. Everything is about monetary gain and if you don't got the green you better have a way to survive. Help wont come when you need it. There is no home and having shame is a simple thing of the past. We all tell people to have hope. We tell them that if they work hard enough that change will eventually come and with that change they will find their happy ending. I've watched humans kill for that happy ending. I've committed murder when a tyrant thought to torture the only good thing in this world I have ever found in this fucked up place. Even when I tried to save it, I still lost it. Yeah, you heard right. I am no saint. This world is far from cupcake and t ,rainbows and their isn't not one soul that could tell me different. I have had to fight to survive since the day I lii I broke out of an egg into this world. No one has ever known where I came from and from the moment I got here I've never know any kindness. I have always been the odd one out because I was different. I'm not talking different just because the color of my skin. Original Story here on Wattpad. No other accounts made. This story is meant to explain events prior to Rift Apart to build up Rivet as a character. This is meant for imagination only as we don't have a fully done back story for Rivet's behavior, and I don't own Rivet as a character, or the world(s) she shares. Those are owned by Insomniac Games.(if you need a writer IG, totally game for that.) Backround we know: unlike her dimensional counterpart: Ratchet, Rivet distrusts robots, and for that matter, most people due to the regime she lives in. That of Emperor Nefarious. Before Rift Apart, Rivet was already hailed a hero in her galaxy, despite never actually having won a fight against the Emperor. Her distrust is a huge and important part of her character we barely scratch in-game due to a good momentum of story with only sprinkles of who she is. Her canon outfit(non-armor) has a scarf to it, despite her living on acid swamp world like Sargasso. Some of this story is told from Rivet's POV, from the POV's of others, as well as just story narration. Things this story is meant to touch on: Rivet's early life before the Resistance. Rivet's reason for eventually joining the Resistance. Why Rivet wears a scarf (not really important, but details are nice..) Her distrust for robots. The loss of her arm. But instead, my life turned out to be the opposite of normal. And so it was for Chiara, Blake, Jake, Rowan, Nova, and Dijon. To tell our story, we need to go all the way back to the beginning. Before we were even born. It all started 30 years ago. April 5, 2003. a class got into an accident and when the survivors woke up, they realized something was wrong. they got powers , they got taken by scientist who started calling them the hollows. It took almost a month before they were rescued by Mr. Knight, they got taken to a secret place where they could live peacefully. that's a lie, one of the students wanted revenge and not stay hidden, so the group seperated. Every year another person got powers, and so, the search continued. But there was always one question on mr. Knight mind: Why 12 children the first time, and only one per year after that? And one thing was for sure: whenever someone gained powers, they had to give something up in return. It was never a choice. It was just the way it was. So, now that I've explained a bit about how this all started, let's fast forward to the present. It's now 2033. Mr. Knight has found 19 children, and Mr. Douglas, the leader of the other group, has found 10. That means... the 30th child is out there somewhere. Who will it be? His mind being transported away. --- So distantly far away there is a race that advanced to the point where they built dyson spheres to house their civilizations. In their continual expansion, they seeded galaxies with pods and connection satellites. Over time they upgraded their dyson spheres into matryoshka brain Cores. Imagine a computer powered by a star. Citizens of Cores no longer age once they upload their minds into the virtual living system of the Core. While they didn't age, most still choose to cycle through life and death though at a different scale of time compared to our lives. Citizens can visit other planets and live there as if they were on a "vacation". Mercury is Earth's hub connected to the closest Core and Earth is a remote vacation spot for wealthy citizens. When the main character was 10 he witnessed a citizen returning to the Core. The story continues 10 odd years later when he again witnesses a similar situation unfolding and manages to touch the person returning to the Core. This causes him to be swept up in the transfer as well and for his mind to join as a "Guest" user of the Core. As a Guest he has limited powers, a starting balance of zero cr or Citizen credits, and no idea how he can get home. He is the first human to ever become a Guest of a Core.
