Abira Classur is a deaf, 16 year old girl. Her life isn't perfect and she can't imagine how it could ever be. Her 19 year old sister is a rebellious teenager, yet is the only one who seems to listen to her. Her twin brother Chris hardly notices anybody when his girlfriend Macy is around. Her best friend, Marco, is also deaf and can tend to be overprotective of her because of what he's lived through. But things can change. People can change. And you can meet the one person, who seemingly can give you a fantasy. #44 in Deaf

Bella Davis is a deaf teen with a purple cochlear implant because she got cochlear implant surgery as a baby and so did her sisters. She uses American Sign Language + English. She's also a superhero who can shoot electricity from her hands. Her older sister Brynlee, or Bryn, fires spherical lasers, while their younger sister Brooke is speedy. Their parents are renowned superheroes: Nova can absorb energy and release it as spheres, and Cyclone is a human tornado. After moving to a regular town, the daughters attend a deaf elementary, middle, and high school until their parents are called back to Heroburg, a town from a different NaNoWriMo story The Emere Stone. Bella and Bryn start freshman and junior year at Heroburg High School, while Brooke begins fourth grade at Heroburg Elementary School, where their parents went. Now, the family balances a life of deafness and superhero adventures. Please don't judge this was written senior year of High School for NaNoWriMo.
