Natsu has always had a thing for Lucy since their first encounter. He wanted her and badly after that. Having her apart of his team was a way to get closer to her. Lucy's birthday was coming up soon and Natsu wanted to surprise her better than anyone else did before. Knowing him, he usually over do things, resulting in a mess.
His love for her grew stronger everyday, giving him a reason to fight harder every mission he has to complete, wanting to give her the future she deserves after living such an isolated childhood, with a careless father.
Lucy, oblivious to Natsu's feelings agrees to go somewhere with him privately at night to a picnic area set up with candles lit up to provide light and of course... food. Natsu wanted to make Lucy feel special that night, but somethings plans can get carried away with...

"He's too sick, Lucy. It's better for you both if you stay away from him for the time being. Just go home and rest, he'll be fine in a couple of days."
