August 18, 2013: We had an assignment in English and we had to look for an article about what's happening in the world. And I chose an article about animal abuse. Part of the assignment was to write a poem about it. I remember writing this in the last hour.

When hardship is experienced, it is only human of us to think on the past. Sometimes though, we end up in a cycle of rumination, reliving events that cannot be changed; we become depressed in our memories. Writing can be therapeutic, so here is a collection of poetry exploring a range of sad and confronting memories. By sharing these poems, I hope to not only further my journey towards peace with the past but to connect with others out there who may be feeling the same way. This is a collection of poems by a ruminator for ruminators.
