A split second is all it takes for an entire life to change. At least that's what I was told, that's what I've read about. My whole life I've spent with my head in a book. Reading became a way out, a great escape to an entirely different life. I could block out everything that was going on around me, and imagine something different, a place where I would thrive, and a place where I would enjoy living. I'm not great at making friends, no one really cares to be friends with someone who wears overly large clothing, and walks around staring at the floor. By the time the other kids got to high school they already had their groups of friends, and didn't care to incorporate someone like me. They didn't know me, and I liked it that way. No eye contact, No physical contact, Keep your head down, and most of all say as little as possible. These were the rules I lived by, and it worked perfectly fine for years, until Carter Mathews thought it would be funny to follow me home. He discovered my secret, and after that... There was no hope of getting rid of the big headed, know it all. This is a story of love, abuse, adventure and finding yourself.

"It's you and me. Together," he says. "Us against the world." ***** All my life, I've never trusted men. The image of them planted in my head is the figure of my abusive stepfather who has made my mother and I live in hell. But then, an encounter with the school's football team captain, Jake Spencer, in one particular morning, starts to make me question my judgment. It's the day when he saves me. He's given me hope I never knew existed. However, I'm the only one who remembers. Of course. He's the superstar in my high school, and I'm just a girl trying to fit in. I should stay away from him, blending in the crowd just like I used to do, avoiding him. Because we are two people from two different worlds. So when fate decides differently, it strikes me with a force so violent that I can't escape from. He destroys me. And just like the first time we met, I'm the only one who remembers everything. Little do I know that it destroys him too. ***** THE SPENCERS SERIES BOOK #2 © 2020 Anya Jayvyn. All Rights Reserved.
