Hermione Granger is elated when her letter from Hogwarts asking her to join students, in what would be her eighth year, at Hogwarts. Not only that, but she was selected to be Head Girl too. Her spirits are only dampened when she finds that Ron and Harry, her best friends, will not be attending with her. Draco Malfoy is anything but pleased when his Hogwarts letter arrives. Going back to Hogwarts would only open opportunities for other students to torment him about the choices he made in the war. But, before his mother is whisked off to Azkaban, she expresses her desire for Draco to finish all his years at Hogwarts. Reluctantly, he attends, but he also gets another surprise, when he tips his Hogwarts letter over-a Head Boy's badge. Two enemies, both wrecked in different ways by the war, must come together to fulfill their duties as Heads. Can they set aside their hatred for each other? Not yet. Despite their burning hate for one another, they spend almost all day every day together-a shared common room, Head duties, and even shared classes. Soon, they develop a sort of friendship. When there is a falling out between Ron and Hermione, Draco is the one to comfort Hermiome.
