The Shadow Elementals are stirring, planning to rebel against the monarchy. The Vitae Sceptro is possibly the only thing that could prevent a civil war from breaking out amongst the Elementals, but Nicholas, the King, refuses to let anyone search for it.
Candace, his daughter, is determined not to let their race fall into oblivion. She ventures around the world, looking for a weapon of mass destruction. Her only companion: her Elementi Spiritu, Aquanis.
But Aquanis is facing its own difficulties. As all Elementi Spiritu are, it was born with a small amount of Umbra, or Inner Darkness, and as Candace strays further from home, Aquanis becomes restless. The Umbra is slowly taking over Aquanis, and Candace feels the conflict.
Can Candace save herself and her race from endless darkness? And will a rising love for the enemy change the course of the future forever?
