Ruby Sanders had a life with no drama, no issues and nothing to worry about. In other words, she didn't have that many friends, she'd never had a boyfriend and she didn't care about what she looked like that much. Growing up with only males in her house, she wasn't exactly the most feminine 16 year old you would ever meet. She lived with her dad Matthew Sanders and her older brother Tyler Sanders who had just come back from college. Her mother had died in a car accident shortly after she was born, so much to her dismay she only had other people's memories of her. From what she had heard she was an amazing woman who made the best brownies. Ever.

Now meet Ryan Kent. He is your average heart-breaker and typical badass. If you searched 'bad boy' on tumblr, you may as well just look at him. However, Mr Kent has more of un-usual back story. Left by one parent may have been a given, but left by both of his parents in a house as a 6 month old baby, now that's simply a recipe for disaster. He didn't die though, clearly. The authorities found him and sent him to live with his closest relative. His aunt Steph who was selfish and obnoxious. Practically the evil step-mother, but an aunt. This is probably the reason he spends as little time in their tiny apartment with her, because spending that much time with a witch would send anyone over edge.
