Sierra Webb is an orphaned preteen with a vague past and scars, both on the inside and out, both self-inflicted and not. Sierra is silently struggling every day, slowly dying at the hands of a metaphoric noose that she has created for herself. When she is unknowingly thrust into the spotlight by being adopted by a famous family, Sierra discovers that she isn't the only one who has secrets. Sierra doesn't know Demi Lovato as a former Disney star turned inspiration whose face-eating grin and infectious laugh have warmed the hearts of millions around the globe. Instead, Sierra sees a guarded, cold-hearted shell of a woman who is as much selfish as she is reserved. Why is Demi so hostile to the young girl who she doesn't even know? Do these two seemingly opposite girls have more in common than either can possibly fathom? Can Demi be Sierra's blessing in disguise, or will Sierra be Demi's?
