Meet Elaine Jenson: Your average high school student.
She has never been what one would consider a 'social butterfly', not that she intended to be one. She is perfectly content with her life the way it is: peaceful, boring, far away from high school drama, and even farther away from Alec Smith.
Who is 'Alec Smith'? Good question. He's the most egotistical, conceited, annoying, and cocky narcissist Elaine has ever laid her eyes on.
It goes without saying that she completely hates Alec's guts.
Unfortunately, the rest of the female population- and her no-so-female best friend- don't agree.
Meet Alec Smith: The most popular guy in school, golden boy of the town, and the heir to a crap-ton of money.
All the ladies want to be with him, all the guys want to be him, and all the adults completely adore him.
Popularity is great and all, but there is only so much a person can take! Too many girls are throwing themselves at him on a daily basis and he is sick of it.
He doesn't want to go through all the hassle of turning all his worshipers down- cause that's much too personal- so he comes up with a plan. A great (and foolproof) plan that his grandchildren's children can be proud of.
His amazing plan:
1- Ask the one person who hates him most and will never fall for his good looks, amazing personality, intelligence beyond comprehension, etc. to be his fake girlfriend.
2- Since he now has a girlfriend, the ladies will back down and stop asking him out. He can live the single life he wants for the rest of high school.
3- Stage a break up after graduation and live happily after.
I mean, what could go wrong?
Spoiler Alert: Practically everything.
Aria has been cordially invited to the wedding of the century . According to her mom . Her older sister is finally marrying her high school sweetheart and she couldn't be any happier. Until she realizes she isn't just the Maid of Honor but the Best Man is none other than her good for nothing ex boyfriend . The man that ruined all other men for her and not in a good way .
Unfortunately replacing the best man is out of the picture since he is , afterall, the groom's brother . Worse yet , he won't be coming alone . He's bringing his fiance to the wedding, the same girl you caught him cheating on you with, not more than 6 months ago.
You know you can't not show up at the wedding , so you cook up a plan to find a fake boyfriend. You think about hiring an escort but shake that thought because you really don't have that kind of money to pay someone for a week. Your bestfriends suggest doing a little swiping and maybe convince the guy to help you out with your dilemma.
What happens when you do an accidental swipe and the man you connect with is THE ONLY man who agrees to your hair brained idea?
