My name is James. I have two brothers, two identical brothers. My life was always 'different' but it was by no means boring. It wasn't always easy but we made the most of it. When I was sixteen I had one of the worst experiences of my life. Looking back on it now, that year changed me, a lot. It molded me into the person I am today. It chokes me up to even think about it, but if anything had been different I wouldn't be where I am right now. You know how they say everyone has a purpose? It's true. Even someone you may think can't contribute at all. If you look hard enough you'll find it, their reason for being here. Some people can see it without much effort at all. A new genetic mutation has formed in humans that causes mental and physical regression to begin at the age of 18. All children are tested at 17 to determine if they carry the mutation. Jake is sure that he won't have it since it isn't all that common. It shouldn't happen to him. It won't happen to him. Until it does. Jake's life is turned upside down as everything he's ever known is now challenged and changed. Limits he never used to have are now set in place for him to follow. And to make matters worse, he is sent to live with two men who will become his caregivers as he regresses into an infant.
