Now, with the world nursed back to a fragile health, there is an academy that trains teenagers to become deadly, brutal witch-hunters. It is law that all witches should be killed on sight. Since she was born, Steph Clarke has been enrolled at the academy. Now 16, she makes the journey from her life of poverty to the academy.  However, she has a secret that, if discovered, would get her killed in an instant: she is a half-witch.
