The story of one traveler's misadventures from Cape to Cairo.
After returning from six months of backpacking in eastern Africa, I wrote a creative non-fiction account of my journey. It was a trip that changed my life. I made several attempts at publishing it through traditional channels. It received some interest and I even got an agent, but ultimately it was passed on because publishers felt the audience for such a book was quite limited. I'm now in the process of novelizing it into a humorous coming of age story.

Because of Haven Beach
"The moon's really beautiful, if you think about it," I blurted. "Yeah?" he asked, mild amusement and curiosity mingling in his voice. "Yeah," I confirmed. "It's just- there's something about the moon that's ethereal. I don't really know how to describe it, but it's a constant in life. You can't always see it, but you have to trust that it's out there somewhere. And when you can see it, it's all bright and shiny and overcomes the darkness." I paused, searching for the right words. "I don't know. I guess it's a reminder that there are good things out there, even if you can't see them... And it's cool to think that someone hundreds of miles away is staring at the exact same moon as you. It makes me feel not so alone in life." Turning my head, I saw him staring at me intently with a thoughtful look on his face. "Too deep for a Friday night?" I laughed nervously, feeling my face grow hot. And this was precisely why I didn't go to parties. He shook his head and seemed to snap out of his daze. "It was deep in a good way." *** SHE was quiet & left out. Part of a friend group because of convenience. Dealing with fighting parents at home. Looking for more in life. Always wanting to get away from Chicago & start over. Her parents' divorce gave her the perfect opportunity. Ending up in Haven Beach, she rekindled relationships with estranged relatives & got the teenage experience she had always dreamed of. Midnight drives. Bonfires at the beach. Adventures every day. Friends who actually cared. Because of Haven Beach, she found herself. HE was a focused athlete- Haven Beach's golden boy. The 4 F's were all that mattered: football, friends, family, & food. All that changed when a quiet brunette moved to town. Because of her arrival in Haven Beach, his world shifted on its axis. The Moments I Recall
He looks out beyond the edge and I can't seem to pull my eyes away from him. He smiles and speaks, but I can't hear anything he says. Even so, the buzzing seems to grow quieter and quieter till it's just silence all around myself and him. I watch his mouth move as inaudible words flow from it into the air, and his hands open as he gestures while he speaks. I watch as he looks turns to look at me to be sure I am following along, and then his eyes just wait on me and his mouth stops moving. I watch him mouth my name and tilt his head to read me. There's nothing I can tell him. Nothing that wont change things, but if I keep this going things will change. Multiple identities
In a fun, mystical and mysterious world, with animals, humans, literal gods and plenty of other species, is.. a person with multiple identities? Some random kid who got reincarnated, went to explore new surroundings while shapeshifting into different people.. A being with no identity so made one for themself, unsatisfied with one, they made another, and another.. and the next thing they know.. they made 6 different identities! Watch this shapeshifter get caught up in all types of messes and how they use their different forms to solve them all! I know it seems a bit boring, and yes, to most it is! But if you wanna just read to pass the time then here you go! (Also this story doesn't exactly have an over arching plot? It's just a string of fun stories) (Includes, blood and touchy topics?)
