Light thrives in the absence of the darkness. And the darkness thrives in the absence of the light. But together, the light glows brighter and the darkness becomes darker. And nothing comes out untouched.

The Reckoning is coming. Four Pathways seal the darkness beneath the Earth's surface. In the depths of the underground. However, one of them is broken and the darkness is slowly seeping out, wreaking havoc throughout the United States. The White Wolf is the only supernatural creature with enough enhanced power to stop the Reckoning before it come to pass. The White Wolf is also prophesied to be the only creature able to start the Reckoning.

There can only ever be one White Wolf. And when the ability is passed down to a teenage girl, the prophesied child of which the angels sing, who knows nothing beyond the superficial teenage world she lives in, all chaos breaks loose. As she comes into her Awakening, and learns to control the Shift, she must choose between the overwhelmingly alluring feeling of the tainted darkness, or the safety of the supernatural world. All the while being guided by a mysterious voice, which she doesn't know if she can trust or not.
