This story follows the universe in which the Kah-Gash failed to recreate the universe due to unknown reasons. The legendary weapon was able to alter the course of time, return The Shadow to its original state, and destroy its own consciousness to ensure that no force could ever wield its fearsome power ever again.
In their weakened state, the Demonata dare not cross into the human universe until they've had time to recover, but those Disciples who survived the final fight have decided not to wait to be attacked on home turf.
