William Buchanan, the son of the late Lucas and Lydia Buchanan, former politicians who died in an explosion at City Hall right across the street from the high school William was just let out of.

As the arsonists ran from the burning building, they raised their guns and sprayed bullets into the crowd of teenagers who had gathered on the other side of the street. William took four bullets, one in his left shoulder, one grazed his neck, one on the right side of his chest, and one in the direct middle of his chest, while protecting his best friend Janine Lincoln.

Flash forward a few years, William is now working at the White House part time while Janine Lincoln's father is the current and 46th president. The Lincoln family has been taking care of Will since his parents died when he was 15. But, even now in college, his past comes back to haunt him, a man he thought was dead shows up on the White House lawn. He returns to Will something he lost almost fourteen years prior. Little does Will know that his life will change forever.
