It all started in 2045. The government decided it was time to take action. Divorce rates were incredibly high, along with homicide & suicide rates. Everyone was sad or angry, or both and the world was no longer a nice place to live. The solution? Get a bunch of mad scientist to fix everything of course! It was an insanely risky tactic...at least that's what grandma says. Today it is 2106 and I have two dates tattooed on each wrist. One is the day I die. The second is the day I meet my "soulmate." The trouble is figuring out which one is which.

I couldn't stop trembling even more now. I calmed down a little more and checked my arm again. I was correct, I wasn't hallucinating. On my shoulder was a tattoo. In this society, everyone has a soulmate. And the way to find yours is just look. Along with a soulmate, everyone has a small tattoo on their cheek with a symbol. Some could be a star, a flower, a yinyang, a fish, or even waves. There are so many people that the symbols are almost limitless. The tattoos don't care about gender or number. There could be gay matches, and there could even be polyamorous matches. The tattoos will tingle when you are near to your sm. And they will glow if you have found only one of your sm's if your match was poly. The trick is, you don't get the tattoo until you are 16. And even if you are near your match, as long as one of you are not of age, your tattoo will not tingle. Also, they are normal tattoos (except you don't get it or choose it, it just appears) so you can get rid of it. But if you do, your sm won't die but they will get very sick. They live in the same state but for 4 years Harper paniced because she couldn't find her match. She wasn't sure if it was because her sm wasn't of age yet or if her sm lived far away.
