Meet Veronica Davis, she defies her “should be” stereotype. She is head cheerleader of her high school, straight A student, and loved by all her friends (the few she has left). But that is not all there is about her. She has a dark side to her, an anger that is short fused, and a low self esteem that aroused from her tormented background. To help channel her dark emotions, she spends her time creating stories and poems reflecting her life. During the summer before entering college she stumbles upon a website where she can share her writings and meets another user who can relate to and admire her works.
Meet Jemar Smith, he may appear like your stereotypical year-round varsity athlete but even he has some skeletons in his closet. To his friends, Jemar is the life of the party, star football wide receiver, and MVP on the wrestling team. With a life so great it is hard to believe that anything could go wrong for him. Unknown to all his jock friends, Jemar comes from a struggling foster home and can only find comfort in the dark literary works or lyrics of songs. His junior year in high school he found a website where he could not only read this “medicine” but he could also share what he has created. The month before college he reads a particular poem that draws his attention to its creator.
Living in two separate worlds, crossing each other’s path but never knowing. As they both continue to talk to their cyber pal, feelings are developed, pasts will resurface, and love and trust will be tested. Could you ever fall for someone you have never met in person?
