Harry thought and saw him raising his wand in the darkness with a tear stained face, eyes big as he stared at the old man who had protected them for so long and knowing he was about to condemn him to death, to drain the last pounding breath away and be at fault. He saw the innocence leaving as the child struggled against light and dark, he saw the pain.
And in the dark, Harry decided Draco Malfoy was no monster: he was a beautiful tragedy.
